2026 BESTEP Teacher Workshop: AI-Assisted English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Lesson Design This workshop explores lesson planning from the perspective of teacher-AI collaboration, inviting EAP teachers to consider the roles and potential of AI throughout the lesson design process. Focusing on differentiated learning tasks and formative assessment, two challenging areas in EAP instruction, the workshop will demonstrate how AI can be used to incorporate discipline-specific topics, adapt classroom tasks to learners' proficiency levels and needs, design appropriate learning scaffolds, and develop assessment criteria and feedback for classroom activities. The workshop will also introduce a selection of practical AI tools and resources for teachers' reference and application in their own teaching contexts.
